Microsoft released an advance notification  for their October 2010 patch Tuesday. Microsoft will release 16 security bulletins on October 12th addressing 49 vulnerabilities.

  • Twelve of the bulletins affect Windows; of those, three are rated as Critical, seven are rated Important, and two are rated as Moderate.
  • One bulletin, which is rated as Critical, affects both Windows and Internet Explorer.
  • Two bulletins, which are rated as Important, affects Microsoft Office.
  • One bulletin, which is rated as Important, affects Microsoft Server Software.

This is one of the biggest patch tuesday of this year. The Patch Assessment team at Desktop Central is prepared for this monster patch release and are hoping to support all of these patches in Desktop Central at the earliest.

Cheers!
