On June 27th, we hosted the final session of our free, four-part Applications Manager training series. In the last leg of our training series, our product experts shared insights on key admin features like setting up thresholds, managing users, viewing comprehensive reports, and configuring dashboards.

A quick recap

In this webinar, attendees learned how to:

  • Automate corrective actions based on alarms raised due to threshold violations.  Troubleshoot issues quicker and easier with the help of instant SMS, email, or trap notifications, and ensure uninterrupted service performance of business-critical apps.

  • Associate thresholds with key metics, and receive notification every time a performance problem arises. Track the number of monitors using a particular threshold and the attribute they’re monitoring. Associate these thresholds with alarms to easily locate the root cause of any problem.

  • Define alarms based on the thresholds associated with various attributes of business-critical servers. Understand the magnitude of an issue and troubleshoot accordingly by choosing from a list of severity levels—critical, warning, and clear.

  • Manage user accounts by assigning different permissions—from read-only access to complete operational privileges—to IT staff. Configure user groups based on the type of business service they work on. Import users from Active Directory using the Active Directory authentication module, and log in to Applications Manager using Active Directory/LDAP credentials.

  • Configure useful admin actions such as scheduling downtime for planned maintenance, and addressing false alarms with the help of attributes like consecutive poll count, socket timeout, URL availability check, and network availability check. Use Applications Manager’s built-in REST API to perform more admin actions, including adding or editing monitors.

  • Generate comprehensive reports and analyze the performance of applications for different time periods. Make sure application components are being utilized to their full potential, and make informed decisions with respect to upgrading or downgrading servers using prebuilt reports for forecasting, trend analysis, capacity planning, etc.

  • Get a holistic view of all applications and their performance statistics with Applications Manager’s customizable dashboard. View alerts from a single console. Create, publish, and share custom dashboards with different teams to analyze performance and collaborate better.

  • Integrate with Analytics Plus and use over 100 KPIs to view and analyze data with the help of interactive dashboards and reports. Share, collaborate, and reach consensus quickly.
