Accessing web resources securely is essential for enterprises and educational institutions. And so, mobility management now includes the ability to filter web content. With web content filtering, organizations can manage, restrict, and channelize content to specific user groups. Limiting website access not only improves productivity, it also functions as a valuable security feature. It enables you to dodge malware attacks from malicious web pages.

How it works.

The web content filtering feature works on Apple mobile devices running iOS 7 and above, using a Safari browser. In addition, the devices must be supervised with Apple Configurator or Device Enrollment Program through a mobile device management (MDM) server. ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus allows you to filter web content in two ways:

  1. Whitelisting URLs – Specify the URLs that users have permission to access. WCFwhitelist
  2. Blacklisting URLs – Prohibit websites that are unauthorized by your organization, like sites with adult content, torrent sites, and so on. Such websites usually contain malicious and unproductive content. Another benefit in this section is the “Blacklist by Content” feature, which uses Apple’s algorithm to automatically censor websites with adult/inappropriate content.WCFBlacklist

How it promotes a positive workspace.

Enforcing firm boundaries for web access prevents unregulated browsing and access to unsuitable content. It’s not a mere restriction, but a method to safeguard resources and integrity. To keep mobile devices safe while providing a positive and productive work environment, manage them with Mobile Device Manager Plus. Try it for free

Note: This feature is currently available for Mobile Device Manager Plus Cloud & On-Premises products. For MDM Plugin in Desktop Central, it would be supported by the end of May 2016.
