Want a Sound alert?

Applications Manager | March 1, 2007 | 1 min read

Here is how you can create a Sound alert from a remote machine.

1. Unzip the local.zip in the “c drive” of the system where Applications Manager is running.

2. Unzip the remote.zip in the “c drive” of the remote system where sound has to be played.

3. Configure Execute Program action in Applications Manager.

Select “Local Server” as Script Location.

Enter

“c:\remote.bat <remotehost><remoteusername><remotepassword>” in the Program To Execute field.

Add the action.

4. Configure alerts for attributes and associate the above action.

5. Now, whenever alert is generated you can hear a sound in the remote machine.

If you want to save the files in custom location please make necessary changes in remote.vbs and playsound.vbs files.

Thanks,

Susan

Can you please update the VB scripts for step 1 and 2? We’re going to use the sound alert for unplanned outages (Monitor down). Very useful feature
    Many thanks,
