Are you all ready for July 27th? You must be! After all, it’s System Administrator Appreciation Day, an entire day dedicated to the invisible yet invincible IT workforce behind every organization.
You may already be aware of how SysAdmin Day came into effect in July of 2000, and how since then, every last Friday of July has been dedicated to the most underrated warriors of the IT world, system administrators. However, you might not know why SysAdmin Day means so much to ManageEngine.
Since our inception, we’ve worked towards making the lives of sysadmins easier. With our comprehensive suite of IT management software, simplifying sysadmins’ tasks is what we at ManageEngine do best. All of this, of course, wouldn’t be possible without the support of our very own sysadmins who work long hours to avert disasters and keep our company secure, among all the other daunting tasks they have to face day in and day out.
ManageEngine has been celebrating SysAdmin Day for the past six years, and every year we honor sysadmins with exciting games, fun contests, and lots of giveaways. The sysadmin who started it all, Ted Kekatos, has even joined online to celebrate with us.
Now, it’s a known fact that IT infrastructure is the most crucial yet vulnerable part of any organization, and it’s sysadmins who work around the clock to ensure the security and availability of all the critical business processes that rely on this infrastructure.
If these hard workers took a day off, there’s a good chance your business’ world would come crashing down. So, the next time you need to raise a ticket, you could invite your sysadmin for a cup of coffee, bring them a batch of cookies, or even offer a simple “Thank you!” for everything they do. With the number of endless tasks they take on daily, this small gesture will undoubtedly go a long way.
But you know what would be even better?
