Traditional IT operations are becoming less efficient at meeting modern business demands as organizations adopt hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures. More complex infrastructures have led to huge amounts of unmanaged data, and IT administrators are finding it difficult to handle the volume of data and analyse it to obtain valuable business insights.
Artificial intelligence for IT operations (AIOps) can be an asset when it comes to IT operations management. A term coined by Gartner in 2016, AIOps uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data integration to manage IT operations more efficiently. AIOps help regulate complex IT infrastructures, overcome visibility issues with unmanaged data, and automate redundant tasks.
“AIOps combines big data and machine learning to automate IT operations processes, including event correlation, anomaly detection and causality determination.” ~ Gartner Glossary
AIOps collects data about the IT operations, discovers recurring patterns of anomalies, gets to the root cause of the problem, collaborates with other ITOps, and automates decision-making. For example, an enterprise has 10 devices connected to a router whose performance must adapt to daily changing business needs. This is a redundant task but it also involves decision-making. This is where AIOps comes into play.
“Yet, there is no doubt: There is no future of IT operations that does not include AIOps.” ~ Gartner’s market guide for AIOps platforms
To give you a better understanding of AIOps, we’ve teamed up with Carlos Casanova, principal analyst at Forrester Research, and an AIOps expert. He will share his insights on AIOps and the role it plays in ITOM, as well as explain how businesses can leverage AIOps in ITOM despite the implementation challenges by joining ManageEngine’s Bharanikumar Kulasekaran and Sharath Babu on a panel discussion. Watch us live online as we unveil the future of AIOps in ITOM.
Highlights of the event:
- An overview of AIOps and the role it plays in business.
- The use of AIOps in reducing IT complexity.
