How to install Desktop Central agents using IP addresses and IP ranges
To use the tool:
- Download the command line tool as a ZIP file: agent-installation-via-ip.zip
This folder will have three files, two of which are executables.
Open Desktop Central.
Navigate to the Agent tab.
Click Agent Installation on the left pane.
In the Using Active Directory tab, under GPO, click Download Agent.
Select the required office. This can be a local office or a remote office depending on which computers you want to install agents in.
Right-click the SetupUtility.bat file and run it in administrative mode.
Extract the ZIP file into a folder. Once the download is complete, copy and paste the DesktopCentral.msi and DesktopCentralAgent.mst files to the extracted InstallAgentViaIP folder.
- Choose the required option from the ones listed, and you will be guided through the steps of providing the required details. The credentials to be provided for agent installation in client computers should have domain admin permissions.

To install agents with a certain IP range within a subnet:
Enter option 2.
Enter the domain or workgroup name.
Enter your administrator username.
Enter your password.
Enter the start IP address.
- Enter the end IP address.
To install agents using ipaddress.txt:
Enter option 3.
- Enter the IP address or IP range of the computers where you want to install agents. The IP addresses of the client computers listed in ipaddress.txt should be mentioned in independent lines.
- Save the file.

Dear Romanus, Thanks for the above update, however I havnt tried this procedure but still I need the similar procedure to uninstall the Agents from the Remote Clients, I have a list of Clients wherein the DC Agent is outdated and the updated Agent asks me "Agent needs to be upgraded.Uninstall the Desktop Central Agent and install again". When I try to uninstall the Agent from SoM its unsuccessful. Kindly update me on this issue. Abdul Majeed
I'm getting lots of errors . I believe it is because we are using Samba as a PDC and /LDAP. The local admin account on the workstation has a different password than the domain Admin account. I can see the utility connect tot he workstation but fails on the copy. with error 1326
Tried option 1 and 2 but weren't able to install the DS Agent. Can you update the post to include an example of the path to the folders where the files are suppose to go?
