In our recent ITOM Spotlight, experts from Nutanix and ManageEngine’s ITOM team delved into the transition of enterprises towards cloud platforms and hybrid solutions. They emphasized the crucial role of full-stack observability and AIOps in ensuring efficient IT management, and they covered the strategy for achieving comprehensive visibility into an enterprise’s stack through ManageEngine-Nutanix integration.

Led by industry experts like Aditiya Kammula, Nutanix’s ecosystem partner manager; Gowrisankar C, director of product management for ManageEngine’s ITOM suite; and Cyril Emmanuel G, senior evangelist for ManageEngine’s ITOM suite, the discussion further explored the challenges faced by organizations during their transition to cloud solutions.

The session further shed light on the following pivotal areas:

  • Cloud adoption trends

  • The future of application modernization

  • The importance of full-stack observability and AIOps

  • Full-stack visibility with ManageEngine-Nutanix integration

Cloud adoption trends

Increasing cloud adoption and the growing necessity for seamless technology integration are prompting businesses to leverage technology to enhance employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and overall operational efficiency. This trend has driven the development of tailored solutions to address specific industry challenges.

According to Gartner, by 2027, over 70% of enterprises are projected to utilize cloud platforms, marking a significant increase from 15% in 2023. This shift may result in benefits such as heightened reliance on industry-specific solutions, accelerated innovation, and a competitive edge.

However, it’s essential to acknowledge that not all organizations will opt for a full cloud approach; some may prefer hybrid solutions, incorporating multi-cloud strategies, edge computing, or on-premises infrastructure based on their specific needs and constraints.

The future of application modernization

During our conversation, Aditiya Kammula pointed out, “The world is not a binary place, and organizations can’t simply choose between being solely on-premises or completely in the cloud.” While some organizations require rapid scalability through public clouds for their dynamic applications, others need infrastructure capable of supporting year-round applications and workloads with predictable demands.

To effectively manage these diverse IT needs, many enterprises are embracing distributed computing models that integrate edge deployments and points of presence (PoPs). This approach facilitates faster decision-making, improved responsiveness, and potentially reduced bandwidth costs by bringing cloud resources closer to users and edge locations.

One such solution to achieving these benefits is through hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI). HCI integrates networking resources, processing, and storage into a cohesive, software-defined platform. Consequently, many organizations are adopting Nutanix’s HCI to optimize edge deployments and PoPs within their IT infrastructure.

Moreover, Nutanix’s modular approach makes it easier for organizations to scale their infrastructure gradually, reducing risks and ensuring smooth transitions during technology adoption.

The importance of full-stack observability and AIOps

To ensure future success and optimized IT environments, organizations require full-stack observability and AIOps to gain comprehensive insights and in-depth analysis extending beyond performance monitoring metrics. AIOps further enhances full-stack observability by automating tasks and seamlessly integrating advancements like adaptive thresholds to alleviate the burden of configuring numerous metrics.

For instance, dynamic baselining, a significant aspect of AIOps, plays a vital role in promptly notifying end users of breaches in thresholds, thus minimizing the need for manual intervention.

Full-stack visibility with ManageEngine-Nutanix integration

Viewed from a business perspective, the integration between ManageEngine and Nutanix offers crucial visibility across an enterprise’s technology stack. This involves understanding the Nutanix clusters supporting each application, thereby establishing comprehensive visibility from the application front end to the infrastructure layers.

Additionally, the inclusion of digital experience monitoring support within ManageEngine’s Applications Manager module completes the toolkit, empowering organizations to achieve full-stack visibility over their IT enterprises.
