ManageEngine has been placed in the 2022 GigaOm Radar for Network Validation

For over 16 years, ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager has enabled network admins to manage network device configurations and validate them—all while helping them stay compliant with international standards. Today, we are thrilled to announce that ManageEngine has been named a Challenger in the 2022 GigaOm Radar for Network Validation.

What makes Network Configuration Manager unique?

Network Configuration Manager is a multi-vendor network configuration and change management (NCCM) solution for switches, routers, firewalls, and other network devices. It helps network admins automate and take total control of the entire life cycle of device configuration management and stay compliant. Let’s look at what we believe makes us unique:

  • Effortless configuration and change management:

Network Configuration Manager lets you take complete control of the configurations of your network devices. It lets you make manual, automated, and scheduled backups of configurations. In addition, it lets you label and maintain different versions of configurations for every managed device in your network and also the details of the network operator who made the configuration changes. This helps in easily identifying and reverting back to the best configurations suited to the current requirements. Network Configuration Manager also supports real-time configuration change notifications through emails, SNMP traps, syslogs, and tickets.

  • Vulnerability management in accordance with NIST:

Identify potential firmware security vulnerabilities in your network devices and take corrective action—all within the console. Our solution acts as a firmware vulnerability scanner and works in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) by fetching firmware vulnerability data and correlating it with the network devices which are currently managed in the infrastructure. Network Configuration Manager lists the vulnerable devices along with CVE ID, severity level, base scores, and links containing patches to fix the vulnerability. You can also request manual updates for any new vulnerabilities.

  • Automated remediation through Configlets:

Configlets, or configuration script templates, allow users to execute bulk commands to any network device right within the Network Configuration Manager console. Once faulty configurations are identified, our solution automatically reverts the faulty configurations to baseline configurations, as defined by the IT admin, with the help of Configlets, thus saving IT admins from laborious firefighting tasks and preventing a network disaster.

  • Compliant with international and internal standards:

To avoid legal troubles and network security loopholes, your business should stay compliant with international standards. Network Configuration Manager offers predefined international compliance policies such as HIPAA, SOX, PCI, and Cisco IOS right out of the box. Additionally, users can also create and manage custom compliance policies from scratch for internal requirements.

  • Unmatched flexibility:

To suit different organizational requirements, we also offer Network Configuration Manager in an Enterprise Edition using which IT teams can manage up to 50,000 devices in over 100 remote locations—all within a single console. In addition, users can choose to integrate Network Configuration Manager with OpManager, our network performance monitoring solution, or with NetFlow Analyzer, our bandwidth management solution, to gain deep insights into the network’s performance. Users can also integrate with the ticketing software like ServiceDesk Plus, ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand, and ServiceNow which helps them log backup failures, configuration upload requests, etc as tickets.

Learn why customers love Network Configuration Manager

  • Our customer, Neil C. Perry, IT manager at Stoops Freightliner, said, “Network Configuration Manager has helped us save a great deal of time in rolling out configuration changes to numerous network devices within minutes rather than hours, or even days.” He further added, “This automated approach allows us to sleep at night knowing that we always have the most up-to-date configurations of our devices.

  • Kevin Spies, manager of network ops at Lightyear Network Solutions LLC, found it challenging to “Keep track of what changes were made to each configuration and at what time.” Spies added, “Network Configuration Manager changed all that. With the ability to store all the configurations on a server and access them via a web GUI, we were able to respond faster to customer configuration change requests.
