ManageEngine CloudSpend, a cloud cost management tool, is excited to announce the release of its new, Reports feature. CloudSpend’s Reports feature automates report generation for integrated cost accounts, utilizing tags like Region, Service, and Billed Accounts for each one. This offers several advantages, like receiving pre-made reports that are generated by parsing your cloud bills; gaining valuable knowledge about your organization’s cloud spending, usage, and trends; setting budgets; managing cloud bills; and receiving alerts in case of budget breaches.
With CloudSpend Reports, you will be able to schedule reports and receive a comprehensive analysis of your cloud spending by viewing the Reports Dashboard, Reports Spend Analysis, or Reports Resource Explorer sections. Additionally, you can estimate future cloud bills based on historical spending.
Reports for AWS and Azure commonly include the Region, Service, and Linked Account tags. For an instance, if a report is auto-generated for an AWS service like an Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) cluster, then the report display name will be followed by the cluster name, or it will use the selected tags as the report name.
On a different note, CloudFront reports are generated based on data transfers. Therefore, the report naming convention includes the CloudFront service name followed by the data transfer region tag value, where regions represent AWS regions. For Azure tag-based reports, if a report is auto-generated for an Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) cluster, then the report name assigned will be the cluster name.
View, edit, and process Reports
The Reports feature in CloudSpend enables you to have access to an overview of your cloud accouns’ expenses, including the previous month’s spending, the current month’s accrued cost, and the estimated cost for the future. In addition, it organizes all AWS or Azure tags and creates a comprehensive report for each account. You can also access the Spend Analysis and Resource Explorer dashboard from the Reports page.
By setting up Budgets for Reports, you can take a proactive approach to managing your costs. These budgets can be configured to run on a monthly, quarterly, yearly, month-to-date, or year-to-date basis and will notify you of any cost overruns, allowing you to track and manage your cloud expenses within the designated budget.
The Spend Analysis function offers data on expenses categorized by Service, Account, Region, Component, Trend, and Resource. After selecting a report from the Reports page, you will be directed to the Spend Analysis section where you can view data on the total cost accrued along with the accounts with the highest and lowest expenditures.
The Resource Explorer function presents a comprehensive outlook of your resources categorized by Accounts, Region, Service, or Tags. You can access detailed information about your resource-level expenses on a daily, monthly, quarterly, or yearly schedule, and export it as a PDF or forward it through email. Additionally, you can select a personalized time frame to view cost data.
Schedule reports from the Admin tab
The Schedule Report feature allows you to view the status of each scheduled report, including the date it was last run, the frequency of the schedule, and the email recipients that will receive the report. Additionally, you can use the Schedule Report feature to edit or delete any scheduled reports.
This feature is particularly useful for businesses that need to monitor their spending regularly, resource usage, or other important metrics. By setting up scheduled reports, you can ensure that key stakeholders receive up-to-date information on a regular basis without having to run the reports each time manually. Overall, the Schedule Report feature provides a convenient and efficient way to manage and track scheduled reports within your organization.
