Welcome back to the final installment of this series. In our previous blogs, we discussed AIOps use cases and how to navigate the build vs. buy decision. In this one, I’d like to delve into the broader business impact of AIOps and discuss the AIOps Maturity Model that we explored during our LinkedIn Live event: Mapping the impact of AIOps for CIOs, CTOs, and IT managers.
So, what does the AIOps Maturity Model look like?
The model provides a structured framework to assess an organization’s AIOps implementation and its progression toward achieving key business and networking outcomes.
During our LinkedIn Live event, Cyril, our senior evangelist, and I delved into the significance of assessing the business impact of AIOps on an organization. While AIOps offers several benefits, including automating repetitive tasks and providing real-time insights, understanding its true impact requires regular evaluation.
This is where the AIOps Maturity Model comes into play.
The AIOps Maturity Model comprises five stages, each representing a different level of AIOps adoption and impact. Let’s explore these stages:
- Experimentation: Organizations in this stage are in the nascent phase of AI experimentation. Their process optimization and business value from AIOps are relatively low.
- Modeling: This stage involves a deeper understanding of AIOps technology and mapping desired business KPIs. Organizations may be experimenting with proof of concepts and pilot projects.
- Operational: At this stage, pilot projects are scaled organization-wide, and process standardization is established. AIOps implementation is well-defined, providing a single-pane-of-glass view for teams to leverage results.
- Optimized: Organizations in this stage consider AIOps a value driver, with advanced process optimizations and automation. Use cases are fully realized, contributing to efficient incident mitigation, monitoring, and data-driven management.
- Evolving: In the final stage, AIOps is deeply integrated into the business and is seen as a core component. It enables the next wave of disruptive transformations, aligning with organizational goals.
How could this model help you?
The AIOps Maturity Model is a powerful tool for organizations to assess their AIOps maturity and navigate the implementation and impact of AIOps on their business objectives. By regularly assessing AIOps maturity and aligning it with business outcomes, organizations can maximize the benefits of AIOps and drive overall organizational success.
For instance, organizations in the Modeling stage may focus on piloting projects, while those in the Operational stage may emphasize scaling and standardization.
