The new year is approaching, and recapping the features and enhancements ADSelfService Plus realized in 2021 is fitting. The integrated self-service password management and multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution for Active Directory and cloud applications added many exciting new features and enhancements.
In 2020, the major features released by ADSelfService Plus, like MFA for VPN and conditional access, focused on tackling the security issues that arose with the shift to remote work. This year, the focus was on making the MFA and single sign-on (SSO) features more comprehensive and accommodating of the solution’s diverse customer base.
Here are some of the ADSelfService Plus feature highlights from 2021:
MFA for Outlook Web Access: ADSelfService Plus added MFA for Outlook Web Access and Exchange server logins. More than 15 authentication methods are supported by the solution to help secure enterprise email from unauthorized access attempts.
OAuth and OpenID Connect: Besides the existing SAML-based SSO, you can now enable SSO for any enterprise application that supports OAuth and OpenID Connect protocols as well. The MFA for cloud applications feature also helps secure the SSO process.
Support for Azure AD MFA: The MFA feature now supports two new secure authentication methods, Azure AD MFA and Zoho OneAuth TOTP, taking the total number of supported authentication methods to 19. This provides organizations with more flexibility in MFA configuration to meet company policy and preference.
Passwordless authentication: ADSelfService Plus and other SSO-enabled applications can now be accessed using advanced authentication methods, such as biometrics, YubiKey, Google Authenticator, without having to enter a password.
ADSelfService Plus also plans the following releases for the end of 2021:

MFA for machine logins when the ADSelfService Plus server is offline or unavailable.

MFA for computer objects.
