In an organization the management demands the Network Administrator to give them department-wise bandwidth usage statistics within a couple of hours for an emergency IT audit. They have 10 departments in their organization.
To do this without the help of any monitoring tool, it would normally take up to a whole week to gather information, validate it and generate presentable reports. The credibility factor & accuracy is not guaranteed even if he manages to fill in some Excel sheets with numbers.
Using NetFlow Analyzer, you can generate these reports in no time and submit it in a single file. For such reports, you could make use of the IP Group feature and generate reports using Compare Report option.
Initially, he could create the IP groups based on the range of IP address for each department. For creating navigate to Admin ? IP Groups and create the groups refer here.
Once you have Created the IP Groups, it will be collecting the information for those groups. Now you can create the Compare report for comparing the stats. To generate the reports, Click on More Reports ? Compare report under ‘Select device’ option select ‘IP Groups’ and select the Groups you wanted.
Once the report is generated it could also be exported in PDF format or it could be emailed.
NetFlow Analyzer offers the scheduling of reports option as well. To schedule the report, navigate to Admin ? Schedule report and create report by selecting IP Groups that have been created and select ‘Compare report’:
After selecting the ‘Compare Report’ option, the type of report could be selected. For instance, ‘Compare multiple report for same time period ‘ option from the drop down list box could be selected.

Total: Total amount of traffic fro the selected period of time
Max%: Maximum utilization of the link for the selected period of time
Min%: Minimum utilization of the link for the selected period of time
Average: Average utilization of the link for the selected period of time
