Last week, we rolled out our latest update ManageEngine Applications Manager 7.3.

This release is special to us - reason: It carries the French, German & Spanish editions of Applications Manager.

Note: It is still one download link for all languages. While installing, you can select the preferred language.

Do try it out & let us know your feedback.

Thanks,

Last week in a call we had a customer who was impressed with our J2EE Web Transaction Monitoring capability (Java Method Level stats). Seeing that, he quizzed me on whether we have any software that has the capability to generate load for testing 1000 virtual Users.

Well, I was happy to say, Yes ! You can take a look at our Product : QEngine : Web Application Testing Product. It can help simulate over 1000 Virtual User Loads with lots of cool configurations that help you simulate real time user browsing behavior too.

Let me elaborate on what I mean by real time user browsing behavior. Take for example you want to simulate 1000 users in which 100 users are in the “New User Registration” form, 500 users viewing their customer statistics page, 400 users filing up some ticket generation Application Form. You could do that with QEngine and in the meantime also have Applications Manager monitoring your J2EE Servers & databases so that you can identify bottlenecks in the Application Servers etc.

The additional benefit this combo has for you is you could even monitor the Server for CPU / Memory utilization, databases and understand in depth stats like read / writes, I/O , bytes transferred etc. Putting it simply, it can also help you plan inventory.

You can get more information about the product from our website www.qengine.com

You are having your scheduled maintenance of your servers / you do not want to monitor your servers during sundays or for any random time period. The problem: Alerts are generated for a known downtime.

You can beat the situation by easily configuring the known downtime using the downtime scheduler.

Go to Admin tab -> click on Downtime Scheduler (under tools)

Follow the steps given in this help link

OK..Now you are all set to turn off monitoring during unwanted time periods.

Here is how you can create a Sound alert from a remote machine.

1. Unzip the local.zip in the “c drive” of the system where AppManager is running.

2. Unzip the remote.zip in the “c drive” of the remote system where sound has to be played.

3. Configure Execute Program action in AppManager.

Select “Local Server” as Script Location.

Enter

“c:\remote.bat <remotehost><remoteusername><remotepassword>” in the Program To Execute field.

Add the action.

4. Configure alerts for attributes and associate the above action.

5. Now, whenever alert is generated you can hear a sound in the remote machine.

If you want to save the files in custom location please make necessary changes in remote.vbs and playsound.vbs files.

Thanks,

Susan
