Alexei Roudnev from Exigengroup, helped us resolve an issue in monitoring via SNMP mode for SLES9. All SNMP agents were upgraded to the new one from SLES9 ServciePack3 and the issue got fixed.

So the customer recommends snmpd from SLES9 ServicePack3 for those who use SuSe Enterprise Server version 9.

We appreciate the customer for having shared this info.

There is a Linux download and Windows download of Applications Manager. Now, whatz the difference between the two? Letz get this clear before you download.

The additional features in Windows download that are not available in Linux download are

* Microsoft .Net monitoring

* Exchange Server monitoring

* Monitoring other windows servers using WMI

* Monitoring NTLM authenticated URLs and external URLs through proxy servers with integrated NTLM authentication

* Recorder.exe which can be used to record a URL sequence can be used in a windows machine. ( though it can be used to upload the sequence to a linux version )

We had few queries on Solaris Monitoring in our support. We do monitor CPU, Memory, Disk utilization of solaris out of the box.

We have Applications Manager downloads for Windows and Linux only. You can install AppMgr in a windows/linux machine and configure it to monitor the solaris machines in the network.

We currently do not have a solaris version of Applications Manager

For the first time, we are trying our luck with Google Maps. Yes, we have integrated Google Maps into Applications Manager. You can take a look at it in the online demo : http://demo.appmanager.com.

You can find it by using the ‘Google Map View’ link on the left in the Home tab or selecting ‘Google Map View’ in the drop down list box in the Monitors Tab.

Currently it shows you the status of monitor groups located (by configuration) in different regions around the globe. You can click the red / green markers to get the ‘Root Cause Analysis’.

How is it configured : You need to configure the location while creating the monitor group.

Need improvements, do let us know. It should get into the product, in an update soon.
